Advent Sunday 4B: Mary's "Fiat" - The Taping of a Christmas Message - O Adonai

Fourth Sunday in Advent

"Fiat" is the Latin for the opening of Mary's response to the Archangel Gabriel's message that God had chosen her--"full of grace"--to be the mother of the Saviour of all mankind, "Let it be done to me according to your word".

This is the disposition each disciple should strive to have, that of discerning and obeying God's will in our regard.

Pour forth, we beseech you, O Lord, your grace into our hearts, that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ your Son was made known by the message of an Angel, may by his Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of his Resurrection. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

THE TAPING OF MY CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

The taping took place at St. Paul's University in early December.  The communications department at the university kindly prepared the final form, which may be viewed by going to the Archdiocesan website (http://www.archottawa.ca/) and choosing either the English or French version.
Here are some photos taken at the taping itself as students and professors moved around the building at exam time.

Finished Product as seen on YouTube

December 18 - O Adonai - O Lord of Might

* * * * * *

O Lord of Lords, and ruler of the House of Israel, you appeared to Moses in the fire of the burning bush, and gave him the law on Sinai: come with your outstretched arm and ransom us.
Amen. Come Lord Jesus.

O Adonai,
et dux domus Israël,
qui Moyse in igne flammae rubi apparuisti,
et ei in Sina legem dedisti:
veni ad redimendum nos in brachio extento.

Cf. Exodus 3.1-6; Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:6

O come, O come, Adonai,
who in thy glorious majesty
from Sinai's mountain, clothed in awe,
gavest thy folk the ancient law.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, O come, thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes on Sinai's height
In ancient times didst give the law
In cloud and majesty, and awe.
