Some Ottawa Priests Away for Study Days at Sainte-Adele, QC

On Monday afternoon, some forty-plus members of the English-Sector priests of the Ottawa Archdiocese headed for Mont-Gabriel in the Laurentians for several days of study and spirit-building time, our biannual study days.

The two main speakers were Mr. Peter Herbeck of Renewal Ministries, who offered us in this Year of Faith some approaches to addressing in our parishes the New Evangelization, which was the topic of the just-concluded Synod of Bishops in Rome and Dr. Dennis McNamara of the Liturgical Institute at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, who spoke on the beauty of Sacred Architecture and Christian Iconography as aspects of our ministry of drawing people to Christ through beauty and harmony.

We also held a session on Father Stephen Rosetti's latest book Why Priests are Happy, discussing his findings on what fosters integration, wholeness and inner peace among priests.

We return today to the challenges that lie ahead with minds and hearts renewed.  Some photos kindness of Father Geoffrey Kerslake, EV and Father Jonathan Blake.
