O God, who in your unfathomable providence are pleased to send your holy Angels to guard us, hear our supplication as we cry to you, that we may always be defended by their protection and rejoice eternally in their company. Through our Lord.

NET COMMISSIONING MASS THIS EVENING
MASSIVE WORSHIP TEAM 2010-2011
This evening at 7:30 in Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica I will preside at the Commissioning Mass for the young men and women who will serve on the NET Canada missionary enterprise (N= National, E=Evangelization, T=Team)/ Les Equipes NET.
Some fifty-plus youth will be mandated to travel in teams across the country giving retreats for high school-aged youth or to stay in parishes for a year to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all and sundry, and to prepare for on-going ministry to youth once they leave the parish at year's end.
Another team (Massive Worship, pictured above at St. Monica's parish where they recently completed training) fosters music ministry, travelling to parishes and youth gatherings to share the joy of singing to the Lord's praise.
The youngsters raise much of the costs of their training and the expenses of a year (or two) in the Lord's service; as well, the NET staff depends on financial contributions for their support. In return, they pray and share the joys of their mission experiences with benefactors, friends and prayer partners.
NET alumni/ae are present in the Church across Canada, continuing their enthusiasm by sharing the significance of a personal relationship with Christ with their families and acquaintances; many are active in their parishes.
I am proud that NET's Headquarters is located in Orleans in our Archdiocese and I delight in serving on its Board of Directors.
To learn more about the wonderful, and now bilingual, NET Canada/Les equipes NET and/or to make a donation, see their website http://www.netcanada.ca/.
