At the Vatican today it was announced that His Holiness Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of the Most Reverend
Jean Gagnon as Bishop of Gaspé, according to canon 401 §1 and has appointed the Most Reverend Gaétan Proulx,
O.S.M., currently Auxiliary Bishop of Québec, as Bishop of Gaspé.

Aujourd'hui on a annoncé que Sa Sainteté le
pape François a accepté la démission de Son Excellence Mgr Jean
Gagnon, comme évêque de Gaspé, conformément au canon 401 §1; et a nommé Son Excellence Mgr Gaétan Proulx, O.S.M.,
présentement évêque auxiliaire à Québec, comme évêque de Gaspé.
