Almighty ever-living God, grant that we may always conform our will to yours and serve your majesty in sincerity of heart. Through our Lord.

ANTICIPATING THE FEAST OF
ST. MARIE-MARGUERITE D'YOUVILLE
The day prescribed for the feast of St. Marguerite d'Youville is October 16, which means that it is displaced this year by the occurrence of Sunday, the great first day of the week on which the Church is called to celebrate the Lord's resurrection and its influence on our lives.
However last week, accompanied by my francophone Vicar for Religious Daniel Berniquez, I journeyed a short distance to Mont Saint Joseph to celebrate a votive Mass of St. Marguerite with the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa, concelebrated by Père Jean-Guy Charron, rsv, their regular chaplain. Soon some of the sisters who have been resident at MSJ during the renovations to the Motherhouse these past several years will be leaving for their renovated quarters.
This visit of mine had had to be delayed in September by the untimely death that very day of the house superior, Soeur Monique Lussier; we remembered her in the Eucharistic Prayer, making it also a "month's mind" Mass.
Unbeknownst to me prior to the occasion, the Sisters of MSJ had decided that they would take advantage of my visit to honour my 50th anniversary in religious life this year (a Jubilee Year knows few limits!) so the lunch was festive indeed.
Herewith a few photos of their grounds, the chapel, etc.:
