Today is rejoicing (laetare) Sunday. Yesterday the anniversary of Pope John Paul II's death was an occasion to rejoice in light of his forthcoming beatification (on May 1).
With a visiting Jesuit friend, I dropped in on the Stamp Exhibition that reflected the life and ministry of the late Holy Father. I met the energetic Anthony Sales, the collector of the 160-panel exhibition (you need a good 45-60 minutes to explore them overall, even more to read all the commentary). There is even a representation of the stamp that will be issued April 16 in anticipation of the beatification.
For some reason, my edited photos are inaccessible; here are the unretouched impressions instead. The exhibition continues all day today and tomorrow, April 4 from 9am to 6 pm at St. Patrick's Basilica, Nepean and Kent streets, Ottawa.
