Yesterday was a very busy day in Toronto: meetings with bishops attending the ordinations of Bishops McGrattan and Nguyen, a seminar on refugee sponsorship for bishops that included an address by the Minister of Immigration, Citizenship and Multiculturalism Jason Kenney, the ordination itself and the reception following with a late-night flight back to Ottawa from the Toronto Island Airport.
I will have pictures of the ordinations tomorrow or Saturday (today I complete the visitation to Paroisse Saint-Claude in Blackburn Hamlet interrupted last week with the civic funeral for Constable Czapnik). Thanks for your understanding of the tight squeeze on time.
Meantime, here is a selection of photos from last Sunday's Homelands Mass during which the gospel was read by Haitian-born abbe Joseph-Lin Eveillard in Creole. Let us remember the people of Haiti in our prayers, particularly for the Archbishop of Port-au-Prince, Joseph Serge Miot who kindly received me with his episcopal team when I was in his diocese to ordain two Haitian Jesuits in August 2008.
