A memorial
Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church, 1303 Leaside Avenue, Ottawa on
Friday, September 9 at 11 o’clock for the repose of the soul of the late Father
Donald Tuori, priest of Archdiocese of Ottawa.
Archbishop Terrence Prendergast S.J. will
preside the concelebrated Mass and Father Michael Wright will give the homily.
Father
Tuori died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the age of
67. He is survived by his brothers Gerald (Judith) of Marlborough, MA and Marc
of Strongsville, OH and his sister Elaine Hallett (Greg) of Syracuse, NY and by
his brother priests of the Archdiocese of Ottawa.
Born in
Syracuse, New York, on November 20, 1948, Fr Tuori was ordained to the priesthood
by Most Reverend Joseph-Aurèle Plourde, Archbishop of Ottawa on
September 18, 1976 at Resurrection of Our Lord Parish in Ottawa.
Father
Tuori served the people of God at the parishes of St. Martin de Porres (Nepean),
St. Michael's (Corkery), St. Peter Celestine (Pakenham), Resurrection of Our
Lord, St. Augustine, St. Philip, Holy Cross, Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St.
Elizabeth (Ottawa) and, most recently, St. Ignatius Church (Ottawa).
The Funeral
Mass for Father Tuori took place at All Saints Catholic Church, 1340 Lancaster
Avenue, Syracuse, NY, on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, with interment following
at St. Agnes Cemetery.
There will
be a reception after the Memorial Mass in the St. Elizabeth parish hall to which
family, brother priests and parishioners are cordially invited.
